Push File / Directory to Device
Copies files and directories from the host computer to the Android device filesystem.
Command Syntax
adb push
Generic Syntax:
adb push [--sync] [-z <ALGORITHM>] [-Z] <local_path>... <remote_path>
Options & Parameters
| Flag | Description |
|---|---|
| --sync | Only push files that are newer or different on host. |
| -z <ALGO> | Enable compression (any, brotli, lz4, zstd, none). |
| -Z | Disable compression completely. |
Real-World Usage Examples
Push single file to Download folder
Uploads file to Android downloads directory.
adb push photo.jpg /sdcard/Download/Output:
photo.jpg: 1 file pushed, 0 skipped. 42.1 MB/s (3401928 bytes in 0.077s)Push entire folder with compression
Pushes folder tree using zstd compression for maximum transfer speed.
