Record Screen Video (MP4)
Records high-definition video of the Android display directly to an MP4 video file.
Command Syntax
adb shell screenrecord
Generic Syntax:
screenrecord [--size <WIDTHxHEIGHT>] [--bit-rate <RATE>] [--time-limit <TIME>] [--rotate] [--bugreport] <file_path.mp4>
Options & Parameters
| Flag | Description |
|---|---|
| --time-limit <SEC> | Record duration limit in seconds (default/max 180). |
| --size <WxH> | Resolution (e.g. 1280x720). Must be supported by hardware encoder. |
| --bit-rate <BPS> | Video bitrate in bits/sec (e.g. 4000000 for 4Mbps). |
| --bugreport | Overlay frame time timestamp and touch markers. |
Real-World Usage Examples
Record 30 seconds of screen at 1080p
Records MP4 video for 30s.
adb shell screenrecord --time-limit 30 /sdcard/Download/demo.mp4Record at custom resolution and bitrate
Records 720p 6Mbps video.
