Display Screen DPI / Density

Displays or overrides the display pixel density (DPI) to scale UI elements.

Command Syntax

adb shell wm density
Generic Syntax: wm density [<DPI>|reset] [-d <DISPLAY_ID>]

Options & Parameters

Flag Description
<DPI> Custom density value (e.g. 360, 420, 480, 560).
reset Restores default factory DPI.

Real-World Usage Examples

Check physical display DPI
Prints physical DPI.
adb shell wm density
Output:
Physical density: 489
Change DPI to 400
Scales UI down to show more content.
adb shell wm density 400
Output:
Physical density: 489
Override density: 400
Reset DPI to factory default
Restores native density.
