How to Use ADB Over Wi-Fi / Wireless Debugging (Android 11+ and Legacy)

Cut the cord and debug your Android device wirelessly over your local Wi-Fi network using Android 11+ pairing or TCP port 5555.

Prerequisites & Requirements

  • Android device and computer connected to the same Wi-Fi network
  • Android 11+ for native wireless pairing (or USB cable once for legacy TCP/IP mode)

Step-by-Step Instructions

Method 1 (Android 11+): Enable Wireless Debugging in Settings

Open Settings > Developer options > Wireless debugging and turn it ON. Tap "Pair device with pairing code". Note the IP address, port, and 6-digit code.

Method 1 (Android 11+): Pair Device

Run `adb pair <IP>:<PORT> <CODE>` on your computer.

Method 1 (Android 11+): Connect to Device

Run `adb connect <IP>:<CONNECT_PORT>` using the main wireless debugging IP and port shown on the main Wireless Debugging screen.

Method 2 (Android 10 and older): Connect with USB First

Plug in USB cable, then switch daemon to TCP port 5555.

Method 2 (Android 10 and older): Unplug USB and Connect over Wi-Fi

Unplug the USB cable and run `adb connect <PHONE_IP>:5555`.
