How to Force 120Hz Refresh Rate on All Android Apps (ADB Hack)

Stop smartphone screens from throttling down to 60Hz. Force maximum 120Hz or 90Hz smoothness across all games, browsers, and social apps via ADB.

Prerequisites & Requirements

  • Android phone with 90Hz, 120Hz, or 144Hz display
  • Target Android device connected via ADB

Step-by-Step Instructions

1

Connect Device to ADB

Connect your device via USB with USB Debugging enabled, or open WebADB Studio.

2

Force Minimum and Peak Refresh Rate to 120Hz

Lock both minimum and peak refresh rates to 120.0:

adb shell settings put system peak_refresh_rate 120.0 && adb shell settings put system min_refresh_rate 120.0
3

Verify Active Refresh Rate

Check that system settings are registered:

adb shell settings get system peak_refresh_rate && adb shell settings get system min_refresh_rate
4

Reset to Adaptive Mode (Undo)

If you want to restore factory dynamic refresh rate scaling:

adb shell settings delete system peak_refresh_rate && adb shell settings delete system min_refresh_rate
