How to Grant WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS Without Root (Tasker, SystemUI Tuner)

Prerequisites & Requirements

  • Android smartphone or tablet (any Android version)
  • Customization app installed (SystemUI Tuner, Tasker, etc.)
  • Target Android device connected via ADB

Step-by-Step Instructions

Install Your Customization App

Install SystemUI Tuner, Tasker, or Macrodroid from the Google Play Store.

Connect Device to ADB

Connect your device via USB cable and open WebADB Shell or command prompt.

Grant WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS Permission

Run the package manager grant command with your application package identifier:

adb shell pm grant com.zacharee1.systemuituner android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS

Verify and Open App

Reopen the app on your phone. The permission check will pass and you can now customize your status bar and system UI without root!
